Peak District Info
Campsites
In no particular order:
Golden Valley – Coach Road, Golden Valley, Derbyshire DE55 4ES. Going here in May. C&CC Certified site with all the mod cons.
Ashbourne – C&CC site. Looks really good, but tent pitches not ready for this season due to new toilet block being installed.
Teversal – C&CC site. Top notch site, but a little out of the Peaks area.
http://www.lanesidecaravanpark.co.uk/ although it doesn’t like noise, bans gazebos, has problems with “Mega Dome” tents (what is that and do I need one?) and has rather a lot of rules.
Here is an online brochure listing loads of campsites click here

We could use Google map for a proper look: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl
B&B
http://www.swiss-house.co.uk/ How Lane, Castleton, Hope Valley S33 8WJ. Fabulous – you want room 5, staggering distance to pub(s), own bar, menu choices at breakfast, own car park and homemade flapjacks when you arrive.

http://www.speedwellcavern.co.uk/ – queue for an hour to go down 105 wet steps along a passage in a wet boat to be turfed out to look at the world’s most unimpressive stalagmites and cave for 40 long boring minutes. Oh and all this at vast expense.
Any caves.
